Our Exhibits

We offer a variety of exhibit opportunities for artists in our region. We have a gallery at Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls that allows artists to exhibit a body of work or as little as one piece of art in themed-exhibits. We also sponsor a juried annual art exhibit that features work from students and adults with awards. Our traveling exhibit travels our region through the year and is located at libraries. In addition, we promote other exhibition opportunities that are available to our artists. Read more about our exhibits below!

 NW Art Exhibit

Each year we sponsor an exhibit that is located in a community in our region (location changes each year). Adult and student artists from our 7 county- service region (Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Polk, Pennington, Roseau and Red Lake Falls) enter pieces of art, including photography, sculpture, drawings, paintings, and more into this exhibit and compete for $2,300.00 in cash awards. Exhibit cash award winners are chosen while the exhibit is on display by a qualified juror. They are then recognized and receive their check at a public reception at the end of the exhibit.

 Traveling Exhibit

The NWMAC sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. The exhibit includes approximately 15 original pieces of art by regional adult artists, chosen from works submitted for our annual juried exhibit.
