Springboard Work of Art Training

The NWMAC has one more day of Work of Art training. This was rescheduled due to a winter storm in April. We are excited for this jam-packed day of training at our office 109 S Minnesota St, Warren, MN 56762.

Naomi from Springboard for the Arts will again lead the sessions. There are four sessions all within this one day.

Schedule:

9-11:30 AM Legal Considerations
Obtain general information about your intellectual property, contract basics and structuring your artistic business.

12-3:30PM Funding: Learn how to think creatively about diversifying your funding streams by exploring traditional and new models for generating value, resources, and revenue. (everyone can eat their lunch as we go over the material, this is 3 workshops worked in one)
Grant writing: This workshop is designed to help individual artists and small arts groups to understand and prepare strong grant applications.
Business Plan Essentials: Learn how to prepare a simple business plan, in arts-friendly language, to help you organize all the various aspects of your artistic practice and make informed business decisions.

Please let us know if you plan to attend so we have enough food and handouts. Cost is $30.00 for people who haven’t attended any other Work of Art Workshops with us.

This is a great opportunity — take advantage of it!

Springboard Work of Art Training: May 18.

Ten workshop sessions will be offered over three weekends at our office in Warren. Springboard for the Arts well trained staff from Fergus Falls will lead most of the workshops. Learn valuable business skills that will move your artistic business to a new level.

For $30.00 participants can choose to attend as many workshops as you’d like up to all ten workshops. Even if participants can only attend one workshop the cost is still $30.00 because that covers the cost of receiving a $20 workbook plus food.

This will be a fun informative class with networking around pizza suppers on Friday nights and soup/sandwich lunch on Saturdays. Food is part of your registration! The more workshops you attend the more value you receive. This workshop series costs over $200 if participants were to attend the sessions in the Twin Cities or other parts of our state. Funding from The McKnight Foundation to the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is greatly reducing the cost of these workshops!

Haven’t seen the new redesign?  It has changed!  Take a look!Screen Shot 2015-02-11 at 3.10.11 PM

And it changes all the time!  It is such a wealth of information…artists should be utilizing it more and more.  In their own words:

Mn Artists is a dynamic online community dedicated to supporting and improving the quality of art and artists in the Midwest through responsive arts reporting and criticism, and by connecting artists with collaborators, influencers, and audiences.  Mn Artists recently completed a major redesign that launched in November 2014.

This workshop will show artists how to best use the new site’s professional development tools. We’ll give you a tour of the redesigned Mn Artists and walk you through the process of creating an artist profile complete with work samples. This workshop is recommended for artists who want to improve their online presence and connect to more opportunities, communities, and conversations, both locally and regionally.

We are pleased to help facilitate this FREE workshop.  Participants should bring their own laptop or tablet.
