Minnesota Shorts Play Festival is Taking Submissions

The Minnesota Shorts Play Festival will be taking submissions of short plays (10 pages or less) from Jan. 1-March 1, 2017. Minnesota writers can submit up to two short plays in a pdf format. Put all information — postal address, name and phone contact — on the first title page. The plays are sent to judges in March, with 7 scripts chosen from Minnesota writers and 7 scripts from national writers. Each night the audience chooses a Best of the Fest award, with one playwright earning $100. Simply email your script to mnshorts@yahoo.com. The performances are family friendly, so nudity and excessive use of f-bombs will get your script tossed. The ninth annual festival will be performed Sept. 7 & 8 at the Lincoln Community Theatre in Mankato. For more information, go to www.mnshorts.com or call coordinator Greg Abbott at 507-420-1881.
