NWMAC: 4th ANNUAL WINTER HOLIDAY EXHIBIT!

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? 

There are two ways to submit your works:

1. You can fill the entry form at the end of this page.  (Fill in your name and contact information, title of your work, medium, and price, and upload a photo or link to your creative submission.)

2. You can E-MAIL your name and contact information, title of your work, medium, and price, and upload a photo or link to your creative submission to tmjacobson16@gmail.com.

NWMAC Winter Holiday Art Exhibit is open to ALL artists for submissions and there is NO FEE to enter. Entry forms can be found here.

What we are looking for: 2D work, 3D work, compositions (written and musical), and video!  Enter today!

How do I participate?

May I show more than one piece?

Yes! Each participant may submit up to two pieces for the Winter Holiday Exhibit!

When can I drop off my piece?  

Delivery dates ofapproved submissions at the gallery are Saturday and Sunday, November 29-30th. The gallery is located in the River Walk Mall in East Grand Forks (across from Cabela’s).

Can I have more time than that to drop off my piece? 

If you need more time, special arrangements can be made to drop of works on December 1st or 2nd by appointment. Call 218-965-4216, or email tmjacobson16@gmail.com.

When do I need to pick up my piece? 

Works must be collected by Sunday, January 11th between 2 and 5 p.m. In case of difficulty, or weather emergency, special arrangements may be made by calling 218-965-4216, or the Arts Council office: 218-745-9111.

Can my piece be sold?  

Yes. Include a price with your artwork title, medium, and your contact information. Interested customers will be asked to contact you directly to purchase your work, and may take the work at the end of the exhibit.

How many artists have shown work in the past? 

Over the past three years, artists from all over northwest Minnesota from Hallock to Ada to Roseau to Fosston, and from the Grand Forks area have participated in the annual Winter Holiday Exhibit. About thirty artists have shown their works, but the exhibit is open to all artists and performers.

Is there a cost to participate?

WntrHldayExh111412baNo! But you might be a winner! A CSA box of various artworks by local artists will be given to one lucky participant! All you need to do is be a part of the exhibit! If you have TWO pieces in the show, you have two chances to win! The winner will be selected on Friday evening, December 12th, 6:00 pm, at the Arts Council and River Walk Gallery in East Grand Forks.

Directions for completing the entry card:  

  1. Fill in the boxes in the top section legibly.
  2. You can enter up to two pieces of artwork. 
  3. There is NO ENTRY FEE.
  4. Please title your work. 
  5. Write your category and a general description (like black and white photo, or oil pastel, or original clay) in the following boxes. 
  6. For size, give the general dimensions of height, width, and depth.
  7. If you are interested in selling your work state the price, otherwise state NFS. 

     8.  An entry sample (photo) must be submitted for each piece listed. Make sure your samples are labeled with your name and title; or Entry A/Entry B if untitled.  You can e-mail work samples to tmjacobson16@gmail.com.   

    9.   For more than two submissions, please send the information requested for each piece to tmjacobson16@gmail.com

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council Winter Holiday Exhibit will take place between December 01, 2014 and January 11, 2015.  All works must be submitted by November 27th.  Works must be dropped off at the River Walk Artists Gallery on November 29-30, 2014 between 2p-5p.  Special arrangement can be made if you need extra time.  Please contact Therese at 218-965-4216 or the Arts Council Office at 218-745-9111.

Fosston: Traveling Mini Art Exhibit

059The Mini Art Exhibit is now residing at the Fosston Public Library through October 2nd.
The Mini Art Exhibit features works from our Regional Art Exhibit held annually in the spring.  2014 saw the exhibit take place in Middle River, Minnesota.
On display, you will find 15 pieces of original art from both amateur and professional artists.  The pieces include pottery, sculpture, paintings, pen and ink and much more!
The art exhibit will travel to:
  • Roseau Public Library October 3-November 7
  • Warren Godel Library November 7-December 3

Artists include:

Adult artists: Susan Neufeld, Beltrami; Alberta Johnson, and Jan Osborn, Thief River Falls; Mollie Rae Miller, Roseau; Annethea Novacek, Greenbush

Artist Initiative Webinars  

The Minnesota State Arts Board is offering FREE one-hour Webinars to help applicants prepare to apply for the Artist Initiative grant program. These sessions  will be particularly helpful for first-time applicants.
Program officer Kathee Foran will walk through the program overview and instructions, and provide background information about what the review panel will look for in an application. At the end of the session, there will be an opportunity to submit questions online.
All sessions are identical in content, and each one is offered as a conference call with an option to view a PowerPoint presentation online. The presenter will be located in an office that cannot accommodate visitors, so please note that it isn’t possible to attend the sessions in person. If you are not able to join a  session, a voice-over PowerPoint and PDF will be also be available on the Artist Initiative program page of the Arts Board Web site.
To make the session more useful to you, we suggest that you read the program overview and application instructions in advance and print out a copy for your reference. This document can be found on the Artist Initiative program page.
We plan to start the presentation on time, so please join the session five minutes early. Save these instructions for reference. No further confirmation will be sent to you.
