Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit is Open in Warroad

The Northwest Minnesota Annual Art Exhibit will be held 

August 13 – 26 in Warroad

Honor Exhibit and Of the Year Award Winners

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is pleased to announce the NW Annual Art Exhibit will be in Warroad from August 13 to 26. The exhibit will be Downtown Warroad at the Discovery Development Hub, 201 Lake Street NE and will be open for the public to view art on 

August 13 from 9am – 1pm

August 16-20 MWF from 9 am – 4pm, Tues & Thurs 4-7pm

August 21 Noon to 3pm

August 23-25  from 9am – 4pm

August 26 Noon to 5:30pm

Adult and student artists from our 7 county- service region (Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Polk, Pennington, Roseau and Red Lake Falls) have entered 120 pieces of art, including photography, sculpture, drawings, and paintings, into this exhibit and will be competing for $2,300.00 in cash awards. Exhibit cash award winners will be chosen while the exhibit is on display by a qualified juror. They will be recognized and receive their check at the reception. Attendees will be able to vote for People’s Choice!

There will be a reception on August 26 at Allison Park Pavilion in Warroad that is free of charge and open to everyone. Mingling, food, and live music begins at 5:30 pm and the program at 6 pm. Please come early to view the art. The Exhibit opens at noon that day and there’s plenty to do in Warroad!

Of the Year Awards will be presented to Don KaKaygeesick of Warroad for the NW Star Award — Lifetime Achievement, Connie Nelson of Hallock for Artist of the Year, and Annethea Novacek of Greenbush for Artist Advocate of the Year. 

The Exhibit and Reception are open to the public and free to attend. Many pieces of art are for sale and the public is encouraged to shop. Purchases can be marked as sold and picked up on August 26 at the reception. The reception is a wonderful day of celebrating the arts in our region. Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit Winners Announced

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is excited to announce the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit Winners. Student and adult artists residing in a seven-county region including Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Polk, Pennington, Roseau and Red Lake recently entered into the Northwest Minnesota Art Exhibit and competed for $2,300.00 in cash awards. The winners were recognized at the Northwest Minnesota Artist Reception in Badger, Minnesota on March 31. Exhibit cash award winners were chosen while the exhibit was on display at the Badger Community Hall in Badger from March 20 to 31 by qualified juror and Region 2 Arts Council Grants Manager Holly Alcott. “I was completely humbled and joyfully impressed by the amount of talent. There were so many incredible creative works it was very difficult to choose the award winners. I applaud the creativity, talent, originality, and technical experience of all the artists that participated, both students and adults,” Alcott said.

2019 ANNUAL ART EXHIBIT — DEADLINE FEBRUARY 28 TO APPLY!

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is pleased to announce their latest “Call for Entries” for the 2019 Annual Art Exhibit. The deadline to submit your art work is February 28, 2019!

This year, the annual Art Exhibit will be in Badger at the community center and runs from March 18 through March 31, 2019.

Artists from our 7 county service region can enter into this art exhibit and will be competing for $2,300.00 in cash awards.  Artists must reside in Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Polk, Pennington, Roseau, or Red Lake counties to be eligible.  Both adult and student artists are encouraged to enter.  Exhibit cash award winners will be chosen while the exhibit is on display by a qualified juror.  They will be recognized and receive their check at the Artist Reception. The Artist Reception will be on Sunday, March 31.

2018 Arts Expo and Annual Art Exhibit

The NWMAC Invites You to Attend the 2018 Arts Expo & the Annual Art Exhibit

This year the annual Art Exhibit will be in Thief River Falls at the Engelstad Arena and runs from April 18 through April 28, 2018.

Annual Art Exhibit. Artists, adult and students, from our 7 county service region have entered into this art exhibit and will be competing for $2300.00 in cash awards. Exhibit cash award winners will be chosen while the exhibit is on display by a qualified juror.  They will be recognized and receive their check at the Artist Reception on Saturday, April 28. The exhibit opens at 9:30 am that day with the reception at 2:00 pm. Exhibit and Of the Year Awards will be presented at 2:30 pm.

Arts Expo. The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is hosting an Arts Expo on Saturday, April 28 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena in Thief River Falls. The event will include presentations from representatives from a variety of arts organizations. These representatives will also be staffing tables to meet with attendees, answer questions and provide information about their organizations and services.

11:00              VSA Presentation in Dakota Room:  For artists with disabilities as well as Arts Leaders or other organizations trying to provide access to people with disabilities.
