Autumn All-Northwest Minnesota Student Art Exhibit

RIVER WALK ARTISTS GALLERY
EAST GRAND FORKS, MINNESOTA
April Symes’ high school students in Warroad created color-filled oil pastel landscapes. Participating students are Jenna Doyle, Sarah Casperson, Katelyn Crowe, Shelby Huseth, Francesca Huerd, and Bailee Ellenson.
High school pupils of Deb Aune in Middle River used charcoal to create shapes with shadow and light in still life drawings. Students are: Tony Olson, Yolanda Kaml, Teahna Anderson, Merle Holverson, Tyler Allen, Adrianna Beito, Whitlee Rud, Tanya Beaulieu, Johanna Jacobson, Ben Besser, and Jake Waage.
Goodridge students of Betsy Saurdiff painted acrylics in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, while her pupils at Grygla experimented with either Van Gogh’s style, or imaginative painting. Those participating from Grygla are Samantha Kraulik, Emilie Tykward, and Kelly Dougherty; and from Goodridge are Kourtney Konickson, Daylyn Kainz, and Benji Wilebski.
In East Grand Forks, Josh Perkerewicz’ 8th graders at Central Middle School created large charcoal drawings of their favorite characters from movies and videos. Students participating are Joelle Kotowicz, Spencer Musgrove, McKenna Garrett, Jaiden Pinckney, Kaitlyn Knutson, Gina Wald, and Jackson Conrad.
Erin Nelson’s advanced art students at EGF Senior High used various media to express realism, abstract art, and collage through design. Her students include Claire Potter, Missy Anderson, Cameron Pederson, and Haakon Gisvold.
A reception for the artists and teachers will be held Saturday, November 22nd, from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. at the gallery. The All-Northwest Minnesota Student Art Exhibit is free to the public, and is open November 5th to November 30th, 2014 at the Arts Council Gallery inside the River Walk Artists shop and gallery, 211 Demers Ave, located in the Riverwalk Theater Mall, East Grand Forks, MN.
