The Minnesota State Arts Board has launched a search for an accounting technician. This important position is responsible for helping to ensure accountability for public funds by completing financial reviews and reconciliations for competitive and legislatively mandated grants.

Minimum qualifications include: an associate’s degree in accounting; a minimum of two years’ professional experience in an accounting position; ability to understand and explain state financial policies and procedures; and the ability to work with a diverse group of constituents including agency staff, vendors, and grantees.

The Minnesota State Arts Board is seeking well qualified candidates for the position of director, communications and external relations.

The director is responsible for the development, direction, and implementation of a strategic communications program that clearly conveys the mission, goals, activities, and accomplishments of the Minnesota State Arts Board, and the impact and value of the arts in Minnesota.  The director develops and implements an external relations program to address the information needs of, and maintain positive relationships with, key stakeholders including the general public, elected officials, interest and advocacy groups, applicants and grantees, the media, and other constituents.

The director reports to the executive director and is part of the agency’s leadership team.  The director will supervise the work of two other staff members as well as other external contractors and vendors, as needed.
