The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is hosting a Winter Fantasy Art Show in conjunction with the Ice Fest in Thief River Falls.

When: January 12 from 11 am to 2 pm in the lobby of the Ralph Engelstad Arena. The exhibit will then move to our gallery at Northland Community and Technical College through February.

Call to Artists: 5th Annual Winter Holiday Art Exhibit

HolidayExh1aThere’s nothing like Christmas in July…well, maybe!  Northwest Minnesota Arts Council wants you to start thinking about Christmas and our 5th Annual Winter Holiday Art Exhibit!

The Exhibit will take place between December 02, 2015  and January 10,  2016.  All work must be submitted by November 28th.  Works must be dropped off at the River Walk Artists Gallery on November 28-29, 2015 between 2p-5p.  Special arrangement can be made if you need extra time.  Please contact Therese at (218) 965-4216 or the Arts Council Office at (218) 745-9111.


There are two ways to submit your works:

1. You can fill the entry form.  (Fill in your name and contact information, title of your work, medium, and price, and upload a photo or link to your creative submission.)

2. You can E-MAIL your name and contact information, title of your work, medium, and price, and upload a photo or link to your creative submission to tmjacobson16@gmail.com.


NWMAC Winter Holiday Art Exhibit is open to ALL artists for submissions and there is NO FEE to enter.

What we are looking for: 2D work, 3D work, compositions (written and musical), and video!)



How do I participate?

May I show more than one piece?

Yes! Each participant may submit up to two pieces for the Winter Holiday Exhibit!

When can I drop off my piece?  

Delivery dates ofapproved submissions at the gallery are Saturday and Sunday, November 28-29th. The gallery is located in the River Walk Mall in East Grand Forks (across from Cabela’s).

Can I have more time than that to drop off my piece? 

If you need more time, special arrangements can be made to drop off works. Call 218-965-4216, or email tmjacobson16@gmail.com.

Can my piece be sold?  

Yes. Include a price with your artwork title, medium, and your contact information. Interested customers will be asked to contact you directly to purchase your work, and may take the work at the end of the exhibit.

How many artists have shown work in the past? 

Over the past four years, artists from all over northwest Minnesota from Hallock to Ada to Roseau to Fosston, and from the Grand Forks area have participated in the annual Winter Holiday Exhibit. About thirty artists have shown their works, but the exhibit is open to all artists and performers.

Is there a cost to participate?




Please PRINT and COMPLETE the ENTRY FORM above or send the information requested below to the gallery curator at:  tmjacobson16@gmail.com.

Directions for completing the entry card:  

  1. Fill in the boxes in the top section legibly.
  2. You can enter up to two pieces of artwork. 
  3. There is NO ENTRY FEE.
  4. Please title your work. 
  5. Write your category and a general description (like black and white photo, or oil pastel, or original clay) in the following boxes. 
  6. For size, give the general dimensions of height, width, and depth.
  7. If you are interested in selling your work state the price, otherwise state NFS. 
  8. An entry sample (photo) must be submitted for each piece listed. Make sure your samples are labeled with your name and title; or Entry A/Entry B if untitled.  You can e-mail work samples to tmjacobson16@gmail.com.
  9. For more than two submissions, please send the information requested for each piece to tmjacobson16@gmail.com

Warren, Mn – The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is pleased to announce the Literary Arts Exhibit at our gallery in Riverwalk Artists Gallery in East Grand Forks.

BookExhibit_6Books and publications by twenty-four authors from around the seven counties of northwest Minnesota will be on display for the public to view and peruse in our comfortable gallery in the Riverwalk Centre Mall.

Authors include novelists, poets, biographers, and children’s storytellers from Warroad and Wannaska to Climax and Fertile and many places in between.
BookExhibit_7As an added bonus, the Arts Council will sponsor a Writers Workshop on Saturday, June 20th at the EGF Campbell Library that is open to all writers by reservation. Cost is $20, and includes lunch.
Our featured writers will meet with participants in a round-table discussion to address writing and publishing questions and techniques you’ve always wondered about!

A Reception and Book signing for the authors will be held Saturday, June 20th1:00-5:00 pm at the gallery, 211 Demers Avenue in Riverwalk Centre Mall, East Grand Forks, across the street from Cabela’s and next to Mamma Maria’s Restaurant.
