Northwest Minnesota Arts Council Exhibit Opportunity
The Holidays! What do you imagine when you hear these words? Do you feel warm by a fireside, or cozy with your family baking cookies, or maybe teeth-chattering cold on an icy blue day? “The Holidays” bring many ideas, feelings, thoughts, and pictures to mind. Let those two words sink in, then create something for our upcoming exhibit. If you don’t have time to create something new, bring in something from the last few years that relates to the theme. Only one piece per person please.
All work must be completed and dropped off by Thursday November 8th at noon at our office in Warren or November 12th in East Grand Forks at our River Walk Centre Mall Gallery between 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. (Other arrangements can be made if necessary.) If you submit a three-dimensional piece please bring the support system or case for its secure display. Poetry or prose should be displayed within a black frame. Visual art can be in any color or style of frame. We will create an exhibit catalog for the show and hold an opening night reception in late November (date TBA).
All ages may enter artwork. We reserve the right to not accept artwork if it does not meet the standards of the show. Work may not be larger than 3 feet square due to space limitations. This is an annual exhibit theme, so join the tradition!
Artists may receive partial reimbursement of their travel costs, if that is a hardship. If you wish to try and sell your piece, you may price it, include your contact information, and arrange your own sale.
You must put your name and contact information on the back of your artwork before you drop it off. When you drop off your piece, you will need to complete an entry form… so we have your contact information on record. We will also record your brief statement about why you think your piece should be part of “The Holidays” exhibit.
At the end of the exhibit, all pieces must be picked up by January 14, 2013.
If you have questions, contact mara or therese, or call 218-745-9111.
