Rural Creative Placemaking Summit

Interested in exploring the topic of rural creative placemaking? The Rural Creative Placemaking Summit will be held October 12-14, 2016 at the University of Iowa. The Summit seeks to enhance cross-sector collaboration, elevate intercultural perspectives within the field, and build policy presence for deeper consideration of rural creative placemaking. The practice of rural creative placemaking – as a field, a strategy for economic development, will be examined, as well as the opportunity to help sustain the culture and community of our rural places. The agenda includes plenary panels, breakouts, and social events with the goal of bringing people together to build relationships, share their work and promote collaboration. Rural America includes a richly varied range of cultures, landscapes, economies, and experiences. The Rural Creative Placemaking Summit hopes to showcase this diversity of rural genius. Registration is now open here.
