Have you read the daily arts blog called Wannaskan Almanac?
The Wannaskan Almanac (http://wannaskanalmanac.blogspot.com/) was created by Joe McDonnell (formerly of The Raven) and Joe Stenzel, both from Wannaska. McDonnell started this blog in late December, after Garrison Keillor stopped doing The Writer’s Almanac on MPR, as he was missing its weekly theme. Encouraging the writers he knew might be interested in participating, he engaged five individuals, then tackled two of the days, Friday & Sunday himself.
Five writers, four of whom are from the Wannaska area are: Joe McDonnell, Joe Stenzel, Catherine Stenzel, and Steve Reynolds; one from Warroad — Kim Hruba, and one from Dodge City, Kansas — John Bouchard, an elementary school teacher with Rainy River, Ontario roots and Wannaska connections through his wife. The writers of Wannaskan Almanac write their daily Monday-Sunday blogs in various forms, as essays, chronological lists and histories, poetry and photographical memoirs.
Here’s the schedule of writers:
Monday: Catherine Stenzel (Jack Pine Savage)
Tuesday: John Bouchard (John Bouchard)
Wednesday: Joe Stenzel (Woe-Wednesday’s Child)
Thursday: Steve Reynolds (WannaskaWriter)
Friday: Joe McDonnell (Chairman Joe)
Saturday: Kim Hruba (Kim Hruba)
Sunday: Joe McDonnell (Chairman Joe)
The above writers also write the following blogs:
