In 1996 the Jerome Foundation and VSA Minnesota began a collaboration to encourage the creation of new artistic work by emerging Minnesota artists with disabilities. Since support of emerging artists is a priority to both organizations, the Jerome Foundation has awarded VSA Minnesota funds for the past 19 years to administer grants to Minnesota artists.

SDG (Sámi Center for Contemporary Art) in Norway announces the Iver Jåks Artist-In-Residency Program. Named after the late Sami artist Iver Jåks, this international artist in residence program offers visual artists an up to two months residency in Karasjok, Norway.

The deadline to apply for the 2016 Warren MacKenzie Advancement Award is April 15, 2016, by 12 noon (this is NOT a post mark deadline).​

The Warren MacKenzie Advancement Award enters its third year in 2016. This award provides an opportunity for students and emerging artists to continue their ceramic research and education for a period of up to twelve consecutive months within a grant year, further expanding their professional development.  This award is available to current undergraduate or graduate students, recent graduates (within one year), or those who have complete a university-equivalent training in ceramics (including apprenticeships) within the year prior to the application deadline.
