The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council is excited that the works of two members of Artists Unlimited, an art group from far northwestern Minnesota, are currently being featured together in the Arts Council’s gallery. Margaret Anderson of Lancaster, MN, and Margaret Ehling of Red Lake Falls, MN have been selected to exhibit their works together for three weeks this fall.
Marge Anderson’s watercolors and pastel artworks highlight a gentle view of nature, winning her the top award in 2012’s Regional Exhibit in Kennedy, MN. Many of her landscapes feature snapshots from well-known locations, like her “Superior Shore,” or “Voyageur Autumn.” One senses peace imparted through Marge’s works, a serenity the artist surely intends.
Contrasting with Marge, Margaret Ehling paints with acrylic, occasionally using collage, creating appealing organic and cosmic scenes which are often abstracted, but sometimes on the edge of a walk through nature. Using a vibrant palette expertly, Margaret’s visual designs draw viewers in for a closer look at details. Her works are brightly fun yet mature–not in an explicit manner, but in being well-developed artistically.
This is one fantastic exhibit, with two amazing artists, but only three short weeks. Be sure to see this one! The exhibit runs October 24 through November 8, 2013 during gallery hours: Wednesday – Saturday, 2 – 8 p.m.; Sunday, 2 – 5 p.m.
The Art Council Gallery is located within River Walk Artists shop & gallery, 211 Demers Avenue, East Grand Forks, MN, in the mall across the street from Cabella’s, and The Blue Moose Restaurant.
